RESOURCE STANDARDS

How we verify resource information

Families deserve a clear picture of where information comes from. Here is what MamaBear Village checks, what we do not promise, and how you can help keep public details useful.

Our public-resource standards

We start with the organization itself

When we name a program, service, or crisis resource, we look first for an official organization page, official contact details, or information supplied by the organization. If that information is not available, we say so rather than fill in a blank.

We show the review date we actually have

A resource card can show a last-reviewed date when a record has one. That date tells you when MamaBear Village last recorded or reviewed the entry; it does not promise that hours, availability, eligibility, or openings are current today.

We link to the source whenever possible

Use the official-site link on a resource card as the primary place to confirm details. The organization itself is the best source for eligibility, safety, cost, capacity, and changes at the door.

We welcome corrections and submissions

Community members and businesses can suggest an update or submit information. A submission is not automatically published, and a business claim is not the same thing as an endorsement. We keep the source and review context visible where we can.

What “reviewed” means—and what it does not

What we can say

An entry may be connected to an official source, a published organization contact, or a documented community/business submission. A review date is shown only when that record has one.

What we cannot promise

We do not guarantee a provider's quality, safety, fit, credentials, availability, price, waitlist status, insurance coverage, or outcome. We do not make medical, legal, emergency, or professional recommendations.

Please confirm every detail directly with the organization before you go, pay, share private information, or make an important decision.

Community and business submissions

We welcome local knowledge. A submission may help us find a missing resource or correct a detail, but it is not automatically a public listing, an endorsement, or proof that a service is currently available.

Business owners are responsible for the accuracy of information they provide. If a profile is claimed, that tells visitors who manages the profile—not that MamaBear Village has independently evaluated every service or statement.

When a community report cannot be supported by an official source or enough clear context, we may leave it out, label it more cautiously, or ask for a correction before it is shared publicly.

See something that needs attention?

If a public resource is outdated, incomplete, or incorrectly described, please contact the organization first when the change is urgent, then let us know so we can review the entry. Do not send private medical, legal, financial, or crisis details through a public submission.
