My name is April. I'm a mom in Northwest Arkansas, and I'm raising three children on the autism spectrum.
For years, I did what every parent does when they need something for their family — I searched. I scrolled through Facebook groups at 10 PM looking for sensory-friendly activities. I Googled for autism-friendly businesses and got a list of results from 2019. I asked in mom groups and got 47 different answers. I called places that no longer existed. I bookmarked websites I could never find again.
Every single time my family needed something — a therapist, a summer camp, an event, a support group, a business that actually understood us — it took hours of searching across a dozen different places just to find one answer.
I got tired of it. And I knew I wasn't alone.
MamaBear Village was built to solve the problem I lived every single day: Northwest Arkansas families deserve one trusted place where everything they need — events, resources, businesses, support, community — is already gathered for them.
This isn't a startup. This isn't a directory. This is a movement. It's what I needed when I was searching alone at midnight, and it's what I'm building for every family in NWA who has ever felt overwhelmed, isolated, or like they were figuring it out by themselves.
